FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • 1. What happens to the urine?
The urine stays on top of the system, is absorbed into the appropriate amount of bedding and removed from the barn. Research shows that this method delivers the lowest amount of toxic ammonia odors in a barn.

    2. Does the urine attack the top cover?
No.  Private testing through an independent laboratory has been done to be sure that urine does not attack the top cover.

    3. What is the cost of one stall?
We have multiple dealers across Canada and the United States. Please call or e-mail us for your nearest dealer or to request a personal quote.

    4. What is the warranty on this system?
There is a 3 year manufacturer’s defect warranty on the entire system, valid from the date of purchase. Some terms and conditions apply. For details or to place a warranty claim, contact the place of purchase.

    5. How long does the product last?
Our original stalls are still installed with their original top cover. StableComfort™ is a product that may or may not out live the horse but will definitely make the horse live longer.

    6. How do I fasten into various types of walls?
    Wood – Use wood screws.
Concrete/brick – Pre-drill holes into the wall prior to fastening with steel nail-ins or concrete fasteners.
    Steel – Use steel screws.

    7. Is the StableComfort™ system too soft for the health of the horse?
Absolutely not.   Extensive testing  has been completed on what animals need for comfort. The most comfortable surface for horses is outdoors, and this is what we have imitated indoors.

    8. What sort of cleaning products can I use on the StableComfort™ system?
Recommended cleaning products are diluted bleach and mil cleaning detergents. You can also power wash your stall floor system. Plastic pitch forks are strongly recommended to avoid damaging the top cover.

    9. What type of flooring is best to install over?
The best floor to install on is a flat cement base. Gravel and crushed lime stone are also adequate bases to install on as long as the surface is compacted down and is flat. Sand bases are not recommended, however still can be used as long as gravel is compacted on top.

GRAPHS

The StableComfort system has been proven to be the equivalent of 4 - 6 inches of wood shavings. This means that in many cases we are simply replacing a lot of bedding and many people bed much heavier than this amount. The best argument for this is the long list of testimonials we receive from people who have seen noticeable improvements in their animal's health while being stabled on StableComfort.

  • StableComfort can be installed over any existing stall flooring, with minimum preparatory work saving time, energy and money.

  • StableComfort replaces bedding material for the purpose of horse comfort now all you need is enough bedding to absorb the moisture!

  • Less bedding means less particle breakdown, resulting in better air quality in your stable.

  • Less bedding means faster daily stall clean-out time.

  • Less bedding means more money in your pocket.

The charts below from the Equine Research Center at the University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario Canada says it all. Shavings required to bed a stall using StableComfort was 80% less than the control stall. Dust levels present during mucking were reduced by 80% as well. The Equine Research Center also found that using StableComfort cut their daily clean out time.

The graph below illustrates how StableComfort compares with other stall floorings and shows its superior ability to provide the highest level of horse comfort.  This graph was produced using The Clegg Hammer test.  The Clegg Hammer is an ASTM device used to measure the shock absorbance of different surfaces.  In effect it tests the hardness of a surface.  The lower the number registered by the Clegg Hammer the better the shock absorbance.
